National Code Gender-Based Violence Virtual Information Session - Contractors, volunteers, & non-employed staff

In 2025, the Australian Government introduced the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence (NCGBV), a legally enforceable framework, setting requirements for all higher education providers.  

The NCGBV: 

• came into effect on 1 January 2026; 

• mandates a Whole-of-Organisation approach to trauma informed, culturally safe and evidence-based practice. 

This information session is designed for contractors, volunteers and non-employed staff. This session will help you: 

• Understand the NCGBV and how the ANU is responding to it 

• Understand what your obligations are under the NCGBV 

• Learn what training, supports and disclosure pathways are available at ANU 

• Learn about current and upcoming opportunities for ANU Community input. 

We are organising a range of sessions with specific information for different groups in the ANU Community. Staff information sessions are being delivered in collaboration with ANU People & Culture. If you are unsure if this session is right for you, please contact NCGBV@anu.edu.au
