Event Description:

Join us for the National Day of Solidarity at the Ocean Shores Community Centre to support the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) and stand with the people of Palestine 🇵🇸. This fundraiser event will feature:

🥙 Delicious Vegan Palestinian Cuisine served from 6:00 PM.

🎥 ISM Film Screening at 6:30 PM, offering powerful insights into the realities on the ground.

🌟 Special guests Surya and Carole, who have recently returned from volunteering in Palestine, will share their stories and experiences.

🗣️ Panel Discussion with prominent speakers, including Sam Watson, Steph Leppard, and Subhi Awad, addressing the ongoing occupation and the fight for liberation & justice.

🆘 As the world witnesses the brutal war crimes of the genocidal & terrorist Israeli state against the people of Gaza, the theft of Palestinian land continues unabated. In the past year alone, more land has been seized than in the last two decades combined.

💡The International Solidarity Movement (ISM) is a Palestinian-led organization committed to resisting the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land using nonviolent, direct-action methods and principles. For over two decades, ISM has worked on the ground in Palestine, standing in solidarity with Palestinian communities, documenting human rights abuses, and supporting grassroots resistance to the occupation.

ISM volunteers from around the world join Palestinians in peaceful protests, olive harvests, and efforts to prevent the demolition of homes and schools. They bear witness to the daily struggles of life under occupation and amplify Palestinian voices, bringing international attention to the injustices faced by those living under Israeli military rule.

ISM advocates for justice and equality, striving to create a future where Palestinians can live in freedom and dignity. Through their efforts, ISM builds global solidarity and mobilizes people worldwide to support the Palestinian cause.

🕊️ In memory of ISM volunteer Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who was tragically killed by Israeli occupation forces, Northern Rivers Friends of Palestine will be hosting this event to raise awareness and funds in her honor.
