    Event description

On the first Wednesday of May, people across Australia hold vigils and light candles to remember and honour people who have been killed because of domestic and family violence and to remember people who continue to suffer.

Join us for a solemn online vigil on National Domestic & Family Violence Remembrance Day as we remember and honour the lives lost to domestic violence in Australia this year. This special event will serve as a powerful reminder of the urgent need for continued advocacy and support to prevent violence in families and relationships.

During the vigil, we will pay tribute through stories, moments of silence, and reflections. We invite participants to light candles in their own spaces as a symbol of hope and remembrance. Together, we can raise awareness and foster a community committed to making a difference.

The vigil is open to all who wish to express their support and solidarity with victims and survivors. Let us come together in memory of those we have lost and reaffirm our commitment to creating a safer world.

A link to the event will be emailed 24 hours before the event start time.

This event is hosted by the Child Protection Party. Empowering every child in Australia to shine brightly with joy, security, and health!
