National Indigenous Youth Education Coalition (NIYEC) Deep Dive Yarn with Blake Tatafu from the Healing Foundation Youth Reference Group

You're invited to our next Deep Dive Yarn with Blake Tatafu from the Healing Foundation Youth Reference Group.

Blake Tatafu is a proud Wiradjuri, Dunghutti (Smith/Clarke) and Tongan man with Hawaiian and Fijian ancestry, born and raised on Dharug Country in Western Sydney. A passionate social worker, he’s dedicated to Social Emotional Wellbeing, Youth Justice, Intergenerational Healing, and supporting Stolen Generations Survivors.

Blake is currently Co-Chair of the Healing Foundation’s national Youth Reference Group, where he actively supports the National Stolen Generations Reference Group and Stolen Generations Organisations across Australia.

He has shared his endeavour of inspiring other young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to aspire to their dreams, by often using the phrase “Aspire to Inspire”. Blake cites his community and family for being his main support and motivator in the work he does with young people each day, hoping to enrich their lives with opportunity, self-determination and choice.

When he is not working, Blake enjoys watching reality TV shows, laying on his Nan’s lounge listening to his Nan’s yarns, going on random road-trips and entertaining his baby nephews
