Event description

Join us for our third monthly Deep Dive Yarn with Preston Parter!

Preston is a proud First Nations Educator from the Biri-gubba language group with connections to the Darumbal people of Central Queensland. With 17 years of experience in rural and remote communities, including a decade as a principal, Preston has been a dedicated leader in education.

In 2022, Preston completed a Master of Indigenous Languages in Education at the University of Sydney while supporting the revival of the Wakka Wakka language. His leadership has been recognised with prestigious awards, including the QLD Reconciliation Award and the ACEL Leaders Award, reflecting a commitment to strength-based approaches in education.

As the Founding Principal of Nullu Badi Ngudyubay Academy (NBNA) Preston is leading the development of an Indigenous-led education model that values First Nations knowledges alongside Western education. Beyond professional achievements, his greatest pride is raising four beautiful children with his wife.

Join us April 29 at 6:30pm AEDT as we discuss the building and importance of black led schooling!
