National Integrity Policy Forum
Event description
Our democracy is in crisis. Crucial reforms to improve transparency, reduce undue influence and improve the quality of public debate are well overdue. We must address these integrity issues to restore public trust in the democratic process.
Here’s your chance to learn exactly where the parties and candidates stand on key democracy and integrity issues. Transparency International Australia, the Centre for Public Integrity and the Australian Democracy Network are hosting an online candidates forum, the National Integrity Policy Forum, at 7pm - 8.30pm Wednesday 23rd April.
At the forum, you’ll get a short briefing on the Democracy Agenda for the 48th Parliament, our joint platform on the critical reforms we need to strengthen and improve our democracy. Then you’ll hear directly from a range of parties, independent MPs, and candidates, about what they’ll do on integrity reforms if elected to Parliament. Each political representative will have a few minutes to share their key responses to the Democracy Agenda, with additional detail available on our website after the event.
A large audience at the Forum will help demonstrate to the candidates vying for election that our democracy is an important issue for voters this election. RSVP now and help us show how many people care about building a fair democracy.
