Be Part of the National Reconciliation Week Breakfast – Your Way 

The National Reconciliation Week Breakfast is an opportunity to come together, reflect, and take action - wherever you are. Host a community watch party, tune in from home or work, there are many ways to engage in meaningful conversations. 

PLEASE REGISTER so we can keep you up to date on programming, send you details on how to tune in via NITV/SBS, and so we know where our amazing viewers are tuning in from. 

We encourage all organisations hosting a Watch-Party to consider supporting the broadcast with a donation.  This will support Reconciliation WA to continue to bring meaningful programs to the reconciliation community.

NRW Breakfast Program:

The 2026 National Reconciliation Week Breakfast is a moment for all of us to come together, reflect, and take meaningful action—wherever we gather. Whether you're joining us in person at Optus Stadium, hosting a community Watch Party, or tuning in from home, there are countless ways to be part of the movement.

This year, we’re inviting organisations, schools, councils, families, and community groups across WA to host Watch Parties for the live‑streamed Breakfast and help carry the message of reconciliation further than ever. In the spirit of the 2026 NRW theme All In, we encourage every Western Australian to stand firm in their own "I’m In" commitment to truth telling, unity, and shared purpose.

How You Can Get Involved in 2026

🏛️ In Your Council Chambers 

Host a Welcome to Country, invite a local Elder to share a Yarn, and bring your community together for collective reflection and action.

☕ In Your Boardroom or Meeting Room 

Share a morning tea, tune into the livestream, and celebrate your RAP achievements while planning your next steps

📚 For Teachers & Schools 

Set up mat time for students, watch the education segment, yarn as a class, and read a First Nations storybook together.

📺 Watch On Demand 

Can’t join live? Stream the recorded broadcast on NITV On Demand at a time that works for your workplace, classroom, or community group.

🏡 At Home with Family & Friends 

Gather around the lounge room or kitchen table, tune in, and share conversations that deepen understanding and connection.

🤝 Host a Community Watch Party 

Partner with local organisations, community groups, or businesses to create a shared space for learning, listening, and truth telling. Invite Aboriginal Elders, leaders, and speakers from your area to keep the conversation going after the broadcast.

Ideas for Hosting a Great Watch Party

✨ Create a themed morning tea featuring First Nations‑owned suppliers 

Support Aboriginal businesses while sparking conversation about economic empowerment.

🎤 Facilitate a post‑livestream discussion 

Use key questions from the broadcast to guide a panel, reflection circle, or group yarn.

🎶 Open with music by First Nations artists 

Set the tone with playlists that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices.

🎨 Run a collaborative art or message activity 

Set up a “Reconciliation Commitment Wall” where participants can write or draw their commitments for 2026.

🧭 Connect your Watch Party with local Country 

Include a local Acknowledgement of Country that recognises the stories, history, and language of the Traditional Owners where you are gathering.

Together, we’re All In for reconciliation—making it a meaningful part of everyday action across Western Australia.
