Event description

The Bowning Bookham Landcare Group invites all community members to join us for a special planting event on National Tree Day, Sunday, 28th July 2024, at Bowning Public School. This event is a wonderful opportunity for volunteers of all ages to come together and contribute to a meaningful habitat linkages project, connecting Burrinjuck to Bango Nature Reserves. Our goal is to plant native trees and shrubs to restore the local ecosystem, enhancing wildlife and biodiversity the playground and beyond.

In recent months, the children at Bowning Public School have keenly observed a noticeable absence of birds in their playground, sparking a heartfelt desire to invite these feathered friends back into their outdoor spaces. Their enthusiasm has inspired our community to take action, not only to attract more birds but also to create habitats for other native animals. By participating in this planting day, you'll be helping to bring their vision to life, fostering a vibrant and diverse ecosystem right in their playground. Let's come together to support the children's dreams and make a lasting impact on our local environment.

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a first-time planter, we welcome your participation. We'll provide all the necessary tools and guidance, so all you need to bring is a pair of gloves, a water bottle, and weather-appropriate clothing. If you have a small spade, feel free to bring it along. This event promises to be a fantastic way to meet new people, learn about our native flora, and make a positive impact on our environment. Come and be a part of a larger effort to create a healthier, more connected landscape.
