National Tree Day - Community Planting - threatened Hooded Plover habitat planting @ Hayborough Beach, Victor Harbor
Event description
Join us on our 3rd annual community planting for the threatened Hooded Plover.
The whole family is welcome. It's easy - children in the past have loved being involved.Â
What to bring? The planting is very easy, bring a garden hand trowel/shovel and some garden gloves if you have them.
Be prepared for the weather conditions of the day.
(bring a drink - the nearest toilets are @ Bridge Tce.)
Carolyn Taylor - Marine & Coastal Officer of Hills & Fleurieu Landscapes will provide an insight into the program and answer your questions about the threatened Hooded Plovers.Â
Further information about getting there:
Park on the Drive or Hindmarsh Road near Bus stop 3 on Hindmarsh Road. Follow the boardwalk thru' the dunes and along the eastern side of the Hindmarsh River estuary. When you 'pop up' onto the beach, the planting area is just to your left (east) towards Port Elliot. You'll see coordinators there with Hi-Viz vests.
