California Native Plant Container Gardening with Lou Avery Douglas — Sept 26, 2026
Description
Our summer pottery sale ends September 30th!
Sign up for our container gardening talk and learn how to grow native plants in pots to enhance your door step, balcony or patio. In fact, a vast array of native plants will grow happily in containers. Potted native plants will add texture and color to your garden or terrace, as well as habitat for birds, butterflies and native bees.
Get tips and tricks for finding your container materials on a budget. This informative presentation will be held outdoors, includes a live potting demonstration, and a hands-on potting activity.
This is a demonstration class, no plants or pots are included.
This class will be held inside our air conditioned classroom and outdoors in a shaded area. We still ask guests to wear closed-toe shoes, wear light layers, bring a water bottle and sun protection.
Lou Avery Douglas is the Community Engagement Manager at Theodore Payne Foundation. He is passionate about the relationships between native plants and wildlife, and loves to introduce newcomers to the complex ecological webs all around them.
