Native Plant Propagation workshop

Learn how to propagate native plants in time for your winter plantings in 2025. 

Join us and delve into the world of propagation. In this hands-on session, Led by Andrew Fairney, CEO at Seeding Natives, discover the secrets of propagating and nurturing native Australian plants using locally sourced seeds and materials.

After the workshop you will be equipped to plant seeds ready for the planting cool season! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned native plant lover, this workshop will teach you easy techniques to propagate different types of plants.

As part of the workshop, you be given some native seeds and small plants to take home ready for the cooler / wetter months.

Note:

Dress appropriately for practical nursery tasks.

This workshop is limited to 20 participants to allow for plenty of one-on-one work with the instructors.

This workshop will be one of a five part series.

This class is only offered as a face-to-face workshop.

Location

• The workshop will be held at Riverdale Farm, Hartley (two minutes off the freeway).

What to bring

• Gardening gloves for planting
• Clothing suitable for variable weather conditions (consider sun, wind and rain)
• Footwear suitable for wet, muddy conditions (work boots, gumboots etc.)
• Sunglasses
• Notepad/pen

• 9:20am – Arrival 
• 9:30am  Workshop commences
• 11:00am – Morning tea
• 12:30pm - Workshop ends

Catering

We will be providing morning tea, along with tea, coffee and water.
