Webinar | Natural disaster-related legal need in Australia: Community Legal Centres and disaster preparedness
Event description
Join the Law and Justice Foundation of NSW for a webinar exploring how the legal assistance sector prepares for, and responds to natural disasters. This webinar will present key findings from two recent research reports:
- A state of the evidence report including a data-driven analysis of disaster-related legal need in Australia, including insights from Legal Aid service data.
- A qualitative study exploring community legal centres’ experience of disaster preparedness.
Hear from expert panellists as they unpack the findings, explore real-world challenges, and discuss practical strategies to strengthen legal service delivery in the context of natural disasters. The session will feature a facilitated panel discussion and audience Q&A, providing an opportunity for legal and disaster professionals to engage directly with the research and share insights.
"This report contributes valuable insights at a time when natural disasters are becoming increasingly frequent and severe in Australia."
