Natural Indigo Workshop - THU 15th Oct 2026

Have you been wanting to dip your hands in your very own rich blue vat? Textile artist Annette Wiguna will take you through the basics of making your own indigo vat from scratch.

We will explore the 1-2-3 method to build a small indigo ferrous-based vat which is useful for dyeing small textile pieces and skeins. We will also apply some basic shibori resist techniques with larger textile pieces in a pre-made large vat.

Finally, we will also discuss the process of maintaining the vat to keep the colour alive.

This workshop is perfect for beginner dyers and those with some experience in natural dyeing. Textile samples will be provided.

Please wear/bring with you:

• 2L glass mason/preserving jar with lid

• apron/old-tshirt

• 1-2 old towels

• closed-in nonslip foot wear

• your own water bottle and refreshment

Workshop Location:

Annette's private studio in Parkwood (location will be released to registered participants).
