ARTIST STATEMENT
As an artist deeply rooted in nature and creativity, my upbringing in Sydney's south surrounded by bushland and a family-owned art supply store shaped my connection to the natural world and diverse artistic mediums. Raised by an immigrant father and influenced by the women in my life, I learned traditional crafts and the value of self-sufficiency, instilling in me the belief that anything store-bought could be crafted at home.Learning to create with minimal resources shaped my early years, but in my search to thrive my journey led me to Transpersonal work in my 30s. This transformative experience aligned my soul with creativity and nature, fostering a profound sense of clarity and flow in life. The integration of these elements became especially meaningful when I tapped into the deep wisdom of my soul while connecting with the land and people of Rorruwuy in North East Arnhem Land. This wisdom, combined with the tranquility of Tamban Forest on the Mid North Coast of NSW, has enriched my life. As a single mother of five in a remote forest, achieving work-life balance is no easy feat, yet it has proven to be remarkably rewarding. BARE Riverstone, my current artistic endeavor, symbolizes the harmonious place I've reached in my life journey.
