Nature Adventure Day - Celebrating Spring 🌱
Wednesday 30th September | 9:00am - 1:00pm | Junction Park, Tumut
Come and spend a morning outdoors celebrating the arrival of spring with Snowy Sprouts!
Our Nature Adventure Days are all about slowing down, getting curious and giving children the freedom to explore, create and connect with the natural world.
During this hands-on session, children will be invited to:
🌿 Explore the site: Discover what’s growing, changing and moving around us as we explore Junction Park and its natural surroundings.
🪵 Use hand tools: Have a go at age-appropriate hand tools, including whittling, with guidance and support from Snowy Sprouts.
🎨 Create with nature: Use natural materials and seasonal inspiration to make and create.
🏕️ Build and tinker: Work together and independently to design, build and experiment with shelters using natural and loose parts.
🌱 Celebrate spring: Notice the signs of a changing season and enjoy plenty of time for child-led nature play and exploration.
There’s no need to be an expert or a great little builder; these workshops are about having a go, trying new things, taking supported risks and seeing where curiosity leads.
What to bring:
A packed lunch and plenty of water
Weather-appropriate clothing
A hat and sunscreen
Sturdy, closed-in shoes
Clothes that can get dirty!
A rain jacket if rain is forecast
Please dress children for the weather. We embrace outdoor play in all kinds of conditions, with adjustments made for extreme or unsafe weather.

Location: Junction Park, Tumut
Children need to be independently toileting and comfortable participating in an outdoor program without a parent/carer.
Come ready to get muddy, make things, explore, climb, create and enjoy a morning of being kids in nature. 🌿
FAQs
- Does my child need to have previous experience with hand tools or whittling?
Not at all! All activities are beginner-friendly and children will be supported with age-appropriate tools and guidance. The focus is on having a go, learning new skills and building confidence.
- What happens if the weather is wet or cold?
Snowy Sprouts is an all-weather program, so please dress your child appropriately for the conditions. We will adapt activities as needed. If extreme or unsafe weather means the session cannot go ahead, families will be contacted with as much notice as possible.
- What should my child bring?
Children should bring a packed lunch, plenty of water, a hat, sunscreen, sturdy closed-in shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Clothes that can get dirty are strongly recommended!
- Can parents stay for the workshop?
Families are very welcome to stay for a little while to help their child settle into the session. However, Nature Adventure Days are designed as drop-off workshops, giving children the opportunity to build confidence, independence and friendships while exploring and learning without their parent or carer alongside them.
