Nature by Night at Rosalind Park
Event description
Did you know that Australia is home to approximately 86 species of bats, with only four of our bat species falling into the fruit bat category?!
Join us for a twilight talk to learn about Bendigo's bats, from the fruit-eating flying foxes to the tiniest of microbats! Hear from local experts about bat ecology, what they eat, where they live and why they are important for a healthy environment.
You will also learn about some of the other nocturnal creatures that call Bendigo home. We will meet just before dusk and watch the Grey-headed Flying Foxes take flight for their evening foraging.
What to bring: This is an outdoor event so wear weather-appropriate clothing.
Meeting point: Pine Lawn (2), on the western side of the Fernery. Map included below.
