Bring your little adventurers aged 1-12 to the beautiful parklands and nature play space, to enjoy this free event for curious kids and nature lovers.
From nature scavenger hunts and cubby building to seed bombs, potions and tinkering, there’s something for every young explorer.
Add your own touch to a community nature mural, explore the biodiversity trail, dig and create in the sandpit, enjoy stories at the pop-up library and plant your own wildflowers to take home. (Bring your own egg carton if you can)
Bring a rug, collect your welcome bag from the event tent, grab a coffee from the van while the kids play, and make a day of it with cafes and lunch spots just a short stroll away on Melbourne Street.
(See Accessibility Info for transport and parking options.)
FAQs
- Why do we have to register if it is free?
Being a free event, we need a way to monitor numbers, to keep it a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Your registration will help achieve this.
- How does Nature Day work?
Nature Day is from 9am-12.30pm, the earlier you come the better as there are many activities to enjoy. On arrival come to the Event Tent near the tennis courts to collect your Nature Day bag. This includes a flyer listing all of the activities available on the day. You can free flow through as many of the activities as you like and in any order. And find a spot to relax under the trees in between!
- Will there be food and drinks?
There will be a coffee van and small morning tea bites for purchase. Melbourne St is very close with a number of cafes to grab a bite or go for lunch afterwards.
- Do we need to bring something to sit on?
There will be a number of chairs and rugs supplied, but if you need to be sure, please bring your own.
- Do we need to bring anything else?
We have many egg cartons for the wildflower planting, but just in case, please bring your own.
- What should we wear?
Please dress for the weather. There is plenty of shade, but also activities in the open, so hats and sunscreen in this case. There is minimal shelter if it rains, so please come prepared for this too.
- Are there toilets?
Yes there are toilets on the outside of the adjacent clubrooms, including an accessible toilet.
