Description

Discover the wonders of nature at Paradise Creek!

Through environmental exploration and eco-art projects, kids develop a lifelong love for the natural world. Nature Explorers is an hour-and-a-half of outdoor fun, games and hands-on nature education with the Elizabeth River Project – perfect for homeschoolers and remote learners ages 4-12 with a different theme each week! Parent/guardians are asked to stay during the program.

Dates: Fridays October 23, 20, November 6, 13, 2026
Time: 10:00am-11:30am

Cost: $10 per youth participant to support equitable access to our river programming, or pay what you can. No charge for parents/chaperones.


October 23, 2026 | Nocturnal Nature Discover animals that are active at night! Become night owls and bats as you learn about echolocation, night time adaptions and more through active games, hikes and take-home crafts.

October 30, 2026 | Not So Creepy Crawlers Learn about the common crawlers at Paradise Creek Nature Park with an insect hunt, spider and snake science activities, obstacle courses and more!

November 6, 2026 | Cozy Critters/Winter in Parad-ice Focus on animal and tree adaptations for winter through fun migration and hibernation games, group activities and art projects!

November 13, 2026 | Fall Harvest Festival Gather seeds and herbs, participate in pumpkin challenges, plant fall flowers, and create festive leaf crowns and crafts!
