Nature in Expressive Watercolour

An ideal beginner /intermediate introductory class exploring a variety of watercolour techniques. Learn to build layers to produce colourful and bright watercolour paintings. A contemporary approach to watercolour painting exploring a variety of subject matter such as botanicals and sea creatures. 

What will be covered in the course:

  • How to stretch your paper
  • Variety of watercolour techniques
  • How to sketch up
  • Colour theory

By the end of this course students will: 

Confidently be able to draw up and use a variety of watercolour painting techniques to produce a colourful and vibrant artwork.

THIS CLASS IS FOR: Beginners to intermediate.

LOCATION: Woolgoolga Gallery 73 Turon Parade Woolgoolga

TIME: Wednesday evenings 6 - 8 pm starting 7 May - 11 June

DURATION: 4 weeks

Micador brilliant watercolour disc (available from tutor)

200/300 gsm cold press watercolour paper (available from tutor)

Tape

Taklon #6 brush

Water containers

Tracing paper

HB pencil

Kneadable and hard eraser

Tissue /paper towel

Water sprayer

    ABOUT THE TUTOR 

    Julianne Gosper has 25+ years experience both as a practising artist and Art teacher  in both secondary schools and T.A.F.E. 

    She holds a B.A in Fine Arts, U.N.S.W and a Diploma
    Assorted a in Arts Education from Deakin University. 

    She has won numerous awards including The Bendigo Art prize, the Louis Ellem Art Prize and in 2021 she was also selected as a finalist in the Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award.

    Julianne loves to explore and experiment in a variety of mediums to produce energetic, large scale artworks capturing the essence of her subject matter.

    She loves to share her knowledge and skills to inspire others with a particular focus on experimentation and having fun. 

    Julianne has a particular interest in advocating the benefits of the Arts for Wellbeing. For the past several years she has worked with Special needs students developing an Arts Enrichment Program focussing on improving mental health building confidence and self esteem.
