Co-founded by The Matcha Initiative and The Transmutation Principle, AlterCOP Summits aim to keep corporate and the public informed of COP proceedings and outcomes, facilitate discourse and knowledge learning on corporate sustainability in a localised context, foster collaboration among various actors (professionals, academics, youth, NPOs, community groups, and policymakers) and inspire action.

As Australia prepares to potentially host COP31, we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to open up climate dialogue to all and show that local actions to mitigate and adapt to climate change are already happening across different communities.

Running alongside the United Nations (UN) COP30 agenda, the four-day event will foster grassroots ownership of global climate goals while amplifying local and regional engagement across Australia.

Join us for an easy-paced city nature walk blending science with experience.

Led by Victoria Sullivan, Health Promotion Practitioner and PhD candidate at UQ's Centre for Community Health and Wellbeing, this walk explores the nature-wellbeing connection in urban environments.

Starting at Centenary Place, Fortitude Valley, you'll engage in sensory activities connecting you to nature, followed by guided observations along river walks and urban green spaces. In pairs, we will reveal hidden urban ecosystem connections, from birdsong to local flora and fauna.

Victoria researches nature-based physical activity benefits, focusing on Nature Prescribing for cardiovascular health. With extensive health promotion experience, she works on projects with the Heart Foundation, Gecko Environment Council, and Outdoors Queensland's Nature-based Health Committee. As a People For Nature Ambassador, she combines research expertise with passion to create meaningful outdoor experiences.
