Nature Journaling
Description
Nature journaling is a creative practice that encourages us to slow down, observe, and document the natural world around us. It fosters a sense of curiosity, creativity, and connection to the local environment, offering both relaxation and a pathway to scientific inquiry. Whether drawers are interested in spending more time outdoors or hoping to gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystems, nature journaling provides a creative way to explore and record the natural world.
For some, traditional botanical illustrations remain a central focus. Scrutinising the precise details of a plant species is a wonderful way to document the natural world. Others may choose a more abstract approach, using colour washes or mixed media to convey their feelings or observations about a particular place.
One of the most exciting aspects of nature journaling is its flexibility. There is no “right” way to journal. Whether you’re a painter, a writer, or a sound artist, nature journaling can be adapted to express your interests.
No experience is necessary to participate in this beginners'workshops. The emphasis is on slowing down and having fun in a friendly group environment!
