Nature Based Wellbeing: Nature Journaling Seasonal Suite
Event description
Spend your time in deep reflection and nourish your soul during this intimate and inspiring Nature Journaling series across the seasons.
Thanks to the growing popularity of the Botanic Gardens Nature Journaling workshops, we have scheduled a much requested ‘series’ of Nature Journaling workshops aligned to explore the seasonal highlights on display at each of our Gardens.
Join Emma Lewellyn in the Botanic Gardens for a series of intimate and inspiring workshops that explores Nature Journaling as a soulful and nourishing wellbeing practice while experiencing the natural wonders at Mount Lofty, Adelaide and Wittunga Botanic Gardens.
Participants will journey through the gentle art of observation, contemplation, and recording through various enjoyable and easy methods.
Nature journaling is for anyone who would like to deepen their relationship with both nature and self. You don’t need to be ‘artistic’ or have special equipment. It can be practiced indoors, outdoors, rain, hail, or shine.
Emma delves into the purpose of journaling as a wellbeing practice, the context of environment, and the various ways in which observations can be recorded.
You'll be guided through mindfulness practice before embarking on journaling exercises.
Each workshop will include a meditative walk-through Gardens to experience the beautiful surrounds and collect natural and botanical materials to use in your journaling practice.
Each workshop will build on the skills and practices learned in the previous session and take individuals on a gradually deepening journey of exploration through different gardens seasons and journaling practices.
Each participant will receive their own personal nature journaling kit including a hardbound watercolour journal, paint set and timber pen and mechanical pencil set.
There will be outdoor components of this workshop, so please dress according to the weather conditions on the day.
Nature Based Wellbeing at the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium are indulgent and unforgettable experiences for the soul and senses, that will equip you with life-long skills to nourish your wellbeing and relationship with nature.
