Nature Journaling

Event description

Get outdoors and get pencil to paper with nature journaling!

If you can hold a pencil, you can do nature journaling. This session will be a fun immersive experience in different styles and techniques for journaling in and with nature, no experience or artistic talents necessary!

Nature journaling can help you increase your nature connection, slow down to relax and enjoy the health benefits of nature, deepen your observation skills, strengthen your thinking and memory.

It's not about how pretty the picture is, it's about taking the time to slow down, notice details, scale and relationships, thoughts, emotions and sensations with the added tool of a notebook to record sketches, words, numbers, questions and colours.

After an introduction to this beautiful forest, I'll share some prompts to have a go at some simple styles of nature journaling - both drawing and writing. As usual, there'll be opportunity to share and chat with other attendees and finish with tea. Suitable for ages 5 and up!

If you have a journal, you're welcome to bring it, but I'll provide some pencils, sketch paper and leaning boards for those who aren't so invested yet.
