Join us at the Port Environment Centre as we celebrate the incredible world of seeds through creativity, conversation and hands-on learning.

Here’s what’s happening:

4:00 – 5:00 pm | Create Seed Keyrings, Magnets & Keepsakes

Discover the remarkable shapes, textures and ingenious designs of Australian native seeds and seed pods. Using the eclectic collection of seeds from Bugs n Slugs, create your own unique keyring, magnet or keepsake to take home while learning about the diversity and beauty of our native plants.

5:00 – 6:00 pm | Community Eco Discussion
Seeds connect people, plants and place. Join us for a relaxed community conversation about the important role seeds play in biodiversity, food security and community resilience.

6:00 – 7:30 pm | Growing from Seed (planting workshop)

Join Gordana from the Ngutunka West Lakes Seed Library for a hands-on introduction to seed saving, planting and growing in Adelaide. Explore why heirloom varieties and locally adapted seeds matter, how wildlife-friendly gardens can support biodiversity and how community seed sharing can help build more diverse and resilient food systems.

Then get your hands in the soil and plant your own seeds to take home.

Plant up to three biodegradable pots with a selection of flowering, herb or vegetable seeds to take home.
