Are you a primary school educator who thinks it is time to take your students outside? Would you like to strengthen your confidence and ability to connect children to the natural world?

Join us for a free online professional learning series designed to enhance your skills in making nature play a part of your teaching and learning. Through interactive experiential learning with experienced facilitators, you have an opportunity to

  • enhance your understanding of the elements and benefits of learning in nature
  • increase your confidence in guiding children in outdoor settings
  • develop a curriculum linked nature play program for your students
  • become part of a network of supportive sustainability educators

The series is comprised of three sequential sessions:

  • Session 1  -  A sense of self and place in nature
    4.00 - 5.30pm, Tuesday, 22 March 2022
  • Session 2  -  Environmental skills development
    4.00 - 5.30pm, Tuesday 3 May 2022
  • Session 3  -  Planning, program design and the curriculum
    4.00 - 5.30pm, Tuesday 31 May 2022. 

Free to NSW primary school teachers, availability is limited. 

To ensure the quality of the learning experience, we ask you to commit to attending all three sessions, complete some course pre-reading, and an evaluation.

By registering for this event, you are registering for all three sessions.  

This learning series is delivered by the Australian Association for Environmental Education (NSW) in partnership with the Centre for Ecological Learning. Sessions will be facilitated by experienced environmental educators, Lisa Siegel and Jane Grebert from the Centre for Ecological Learning. The Centre for Ecological Learning has been facilitating nature education experiences for children, young people, and adults for over 13 years. Lisa teaches Environmental Education to Pre-Service Teachers at Southern Cross University, and Jane directs the Discovery Program for National Parks NSW.
