Event description
We have an action packed program for this event that will leave you in no doubt about how to get started on planting up your nature strip. Join us for the following explorations - follow your interest and come to one or come to them all. Places are limited so BOOK NOW.
Please arrive at 10.15am for a 10.30am start. This will give you time to register and collect you show bag of goodies.

10.30am – 11.00am - MVS Resources & Moonee Valley City Council Guidelines

11.00am – 12.15pm - Designing and creating a nature strip garden – Kat Lavers
Kat is a sustainable gardening advocate who loves to promote biodiversity and food production. She is a specialist in making the most of small spaces, including nature strips, through her roles as a permaculture designer, organic gardening educator and local government officer.
12.15pm – 12.30pm - Break & refreshments
12.30pm – 1.00pm - Plant selection for nature strips – Jane Canaway
Jane is a Moonee Valley-based garden writer and researcher who has been experimenting with nature strip planting for about 10 years and is still chasing the Perfect Plant Scheme. She is an ardent advocate for indigenous flora and fauna but also a keen vegie grower and forager.
1.00pm – 1.30pm - Tour of the Dwell nature strip – Logan Shield
Logan is a sustainable building designer with a passion for plants and landscaping from a young age. More recently has become interested in urban design and all aspects of creating cool and green streets and suburbs.
