Nature Strip Tour
Event description
Explore five inspiring nature strips—each with its own unique story and valuable lessons to share. Over the course of this two-hour, 1.5 km walking tour, you’ll see a variety of approaches to nature strip gardening, from freshly planted to well-established examples.
Discover how indigenous plants and pollinator-friendly species can transform our streetscapes. Meet the homeowners who created these vibrant spaces—they’ll share insights into the practicalities of planting and maintaining their nature strips, what’s worked well, and what they’d do differently next time.
The tour will also include a stop at the Glenbervie Station nature strip, a great example of how community spaces can be revitalised to contribute to a greener urban environment.
We’ll finish at a nearby sustainable home for light refreshments, where you’ll have a chance to reflect on what you’ve seen, share your thoughts, and connect with fellow participants.
Attendees can get back to Strathmore station via train independently - its just one stop.
Wear sensible shoes and clothes appropriate to the weather.
