NATURE: THE POWER OF PLAY

(2 session dates available)

Are we providing nature spaces that support children's learning and development? Are our children still as connected to nature as previous generations?

In this presentation Celia will explore the benefits of nature play for children up to approximately 10 years old, share some of the theory behind how children play and how that information can inform how we use our outdoor spaces and how we can bring them alive. During the talk there will be discussions on schema, loose parts and risk play along with some tips and tricks that will support you when working with children outdoors or when activating outdoors spaces.

Celia is often described as an engaging, easy to listen to and fun speaker with a little bit of humour thrown in for good measure. You will leave with some new practical ideas and a feeling of inspiration for all that nature play has to offer.

Aimed at teachers, council and sport organisations, parents and anyone working with children up to 10 years old
