The wonders of nature coming alive through play, exploration and discovery.

Nature Play is an opportunity for your child to engage in environmental education and play-based learning guided by experienced mentors, trained teachers and outdoor educators.

Please note, there are unfenced cliffs within 200m of our gathering place. We may go on the first section of the Bomaderry Creek Reserve bush walk to observe spring blossoms. Your child needs to be able to reliably remain with the group and follow adult direction in order to attend this session. Please contact us if you are unsure whether this session is suitable for your child's behavioural patterns.

Our group sizes are intentionally small to facilitate high quality social interactions and to enable risky, adventurous play.

Refund policy

Our program is held outdoors with some access to simple shelter, and will continue rain or shine. Nature Play will only be cancelled in the event of a severe weather warning, such as bushfire, storm, high temperatures and gale winds. In this event, we will endeavour to gather in a safer location and will advise you via email up to 2hrs before sessions begin. If this is not possible, a full refund for the session will be offered. No refund is available if a session is cancelled after it has already started due to weather or safety concerns. Due to staffing and resourcing commitments, we cannot offer guaranteed change of mind or no-show refunds. We will refund your session when you provide at least 24hrs notice of being unable to attend, and if we are able to fill the space from our waiting list.

Wild play and outdoor recreation experiences for children and their families in the Shoalhaven, NSW.

While we arrive each day with a flexible plan, we will be learning on the hop and flowing with the interest and energy of the children on the day. We begin and end our day in the village (a shelter from the weather, fire circle and nearby bush paddock). There’s acres of wilderness to explore, rocks to scramble, bushcraft skills to learn and practice, paddling in the creek. Outdoor recreational activities might include:

nature inspired art and craft
sculpture
baking bread on the campfire
weaving
learning knots
stories or songs
building shelters or rope swings
whittling wood
playing trail games
observation walks
paddling in rock pools
identifying birds, plants and animals.

Nature Play will feel like a big fun family for your child. We lay the foundation of respect and kindness for self, each other and a reverence for Mother Nature from the very beginning of our day. Our soft skills practices will include deep listening, self, to each other, being brave to speak our truth, offering knowledge when we feel called, and asking for help when we need it.
