Navigating Emotional Labor in Sex Work Organizing

This class explores ways in which the identities of SWer, Survivor, and Organizer influence Power Dynamics and layers of the created structure.

Doc will discuss what emotional labor can look like and resources will be provided to offload the burden of some that work in systems and settings.

The class will also explore ways in which Individuals can know their activation cues and center themselves when the pull is to feed into social norms to do extra work that is not theirs to carry.

I am a Black New York femme born individual who is routinely perceived as a trans woman thanks to bodybuilding. I am first/second generation in terms of immigration identities (West Indian descent of different sorts). I'm Pan but Ace leaning. Family history of major mental health diagnoses, extensive work with the like. I have moved around the country. Professional work with forensic concentration.
