Event description

There is no doubt that hormones are essential to life itself. Women’s hormonal health has been vastly understudied and under appreciated. The hangover from the WHI study still exists amongst the medical profession and hence many of us have become de-skilled in our knowledge of hormones. The revolution has begun, but there is so much information for our patients to digest and consider; each woman’s hormonal journey being entirely unique and varied.

Hera Menopause is most excited to host Dr Louise Newson, GP, pioneer of Newson Health and a trailblazer in Women’s Health for one night only at the St John of God Subiaco auditorium. Dr Newson will share her insights as one of the world’s most experienced and leading clinicians in the realm of women’s hormone health. From puberty through the fertile years, to the chaos of perimenopause and menopause, Dr Newson will cover the vast impact that hormones have at a cellular level, affecting multiple pathophysiologies in the body. As a consequence, all medical specialists including GP’s need to be aware of how hormones affect a women’s body throughout the life cycle and feel confident about how and when to prescribe hormones.
