Not A Workshop: Political frontlines

Not A Workshop (NAW) is an open creative space to explore art materials, connect through some down time and share or not share in the emotional life of our work. This is a spin on our regular space focused on labour of care. Political Frontlines uses our model to open up space for a collective sigh and offer an outlet for the emotional life of political work. 

You may be actively engaged in union organising, knocking on doors, going to demonstrations or having difficult conversations with family or even just feeling the weight of the political climate: emotional burnout resonates throughout political engagement even if it is just being aware. 

NAW is about experiential collective solidarity and recharging.

There is no expectation to discuss the work you do, or discuss anything at all. No art making skills or experience are necessary, you may just want to play with materials or just take some time to be in the space with a cup of tea. There are no aims, goals or outcomes, it is not (a) work(shop).

Not A Workshop is facilitated by HCPC registered art psychotherapists part of the TAT (The Art Therapy) workers cooperative. We are a group of practitioners railing against exploitation and developing solidarity with workers across sectors, with a particular focus on mental health and those who support others in unsupportive environments. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring extras along. Equally there will be snacks and drinks provided but feel free to contribute.
