Sow & Grow: Volunteer at the Native Plant Nursery

🌱 Help Grow Native Plants for Restoration!
Bring a friend and join us in supporting restoration projects throughout Upper Newport Bay. Volunteers will take part in hands-on, seasonal nursery activities, including:
Seed collection and sowing
Transplanting seedlings and pruning
Processing cuttings
Composting and pot washing
Weeding and maintaining the nursery space
No experience is necessary! All training and tools will be provided.
This program is open to volunteers ages 13 and up. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian at all times.

- What should I bring?
Please come prepared with: - Closed-toe shoes - Outdoor work attire - Reusable water bottle - Sunscreen - Hat * To help prevent the potential spread of plant diseases or pests, please refrain from bringing personal gloves or tools. Clean, site-provided gloves and tools will be available for use.
- What should I expect during a volunteer shift?
Volunteers should be prepared for outdoor conditions. While most work is in shaded areas, you may be standing and exposed to changing weather for extended periods.
- How do groups sign up to volunteer?
For group volunteer opportunities, please fill out the Group Request Form at https://forms.gle/Gi5H4cksU1GqsU2K7. This helps us coordinate schedules, activities, and staffing needs.
- Are there restrooms and parking available?
Yes. Free parking and public restrooms are available on-site.
