Silvopasture is the intentional integration of forages, trees, and livestock, and can help increase productivity and support health in farm and forest systems.

The increasing interest in silvopasture and other agroforestry practices among farmers, landowners, and land managers has produced a growing need for technical assistance. Join us and learn about the principles, design considerations, benefits, and potential challenges associated with silvopasture. Participants learn from experienced agroforestry professionals during classroom lecture and experiential learning in a managed pine/cattle silvopasture system.

This North Carolina workshop is hosted by Appalachian Sustainable Development and Virginia Tech, offered in collaboration with North Carolina State University, North Carolina Cooperative Extension, NC NRCS and generously funded by the Edwards Mother Earth Foundation and a NRCS Conservation Innovation Grant.
