Silvopasture is the intentional integration of forages, trees, and livestock, and can help increase productivity and support health in farm and forest systems.
The increasing interest in silvopasture and other agroforestry practices among farmers, landowners, and land managers has produced a growing need for technical assistance. Join us and learn about the principles, design considerations, benefits, and potential challenges associated with silvopasture. Participants will tour a diverse silvopasture operation in Marion, NC and learn from the farmers and expert instructors. The training will also cover forage selection and establishment, site assessment, and local and historical examples of silvopasture.
Seats are limited, please contact the event organizers with questions regarding registration availability. When registering, please select the ticket type that most closely matches your organizational affiliation (for example: Extension).
