    Event description

The NDIS OT Community of Practice has continued to grow throughout 2023, and it’s timely to get together for our mid-year event and discuss the key policy and practice issues that currently require considered, evidence-based and creative OT thinking. Our August 2023 event focuses on mental health and psychosocial disability.

We're beyond excited to announce our speakers!

Firstly, we will have Senator Jordan Steele-John, disability advocate, and Greens Senator, join us to share progress on the Senate Inquiry to Barriers to consistent, timely and best practice assessment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and support services for people with ADHD, which he initiated and is championing. This update will be relevant to both paediatric and mental health OT’s.

AND we will hear from Mr. Gerry Naughtin, the NDIA Strategic Adviser Psychosocial Disability and Mental Health, for an update on the NDIS through a psychosocial disability lens. We are grateful to Gerry for offering us his time, expertise and insights.

PLUS we will share the details of our Submission to the NDIS Review designed with participant-partners, and will have some best-practice updates from our incredible OT Community of Practice!
