Event description

The NDIA invites providers to attend an information session on 'NDIS Plans: Working with Participants and the NDIA'.

The session aims to support NDIS providers to deliver supports in alignment with participants, NDIS plans and legislative changes.

What the session covers:

key principles of Participant NDIS Plans
common questions
recurring themes
pathways for assistance and scheme reforms related to NDIS Amendment Bill 2024

Representatives from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission will be in attendance.

Who should attend: Providers who deliver supports to participants. However, Support Coordinators and Psychosocial Recovery Coaches may also find the information useful.

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

The NDIS also connects anyone with disability to services in their community.

This includes connections to doctors, community groups, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as providing information about what support is provided by each state and territory government.

The NDIS now supports over 500,000 Australians with disability to access the services and supports they need.

This includes supporting approximately 80,000 children with developmental delay, ensuring they receive supports early so that they achieve the best outcomes throughout their lives.

“Number of participants – the total number of Scheme participants at 31 March 2024 was 649,623, which included 277,427 participants aged between 0 and 14 years. Of participants aged between 0 and 14 years, 96,012 had developmental delay and 136,209 had autism. Participants aged between 0 and 14 years represented 43% of Scheme participants”

“1.4 Children in the NDIS At 31 March 2024, there were 153,174 children younger than 9 with an NDIS plan, and a further 10,779 accessing early connections”
