Event description
Registrations are now open for our one-day Strengths-based Skills for Youth Mentoring workshop to be held in Nelson on Thursday 29th May 2025.
This workshop is part of our ongoing "Sharing the Kaupapa" series, designed to enhance mentoring skills and provide valuable resources to the youth mentoring sector.
In this upcoming workshop, you will:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the strengths-based approach and its importance in youth mentoring
- Explore a reflective process for guiding change (the Column Tool)
- Learn and practice 12 key strengths-based skills
- Strengthen your youth mentoring networks
...and, of course, have fun along the way!
Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive. They particularly appreciated the engaging presentations, interactive group activities, and insightful exploration of the 12 strengths-based skills.
Who should attend?
This workshop is for people who work with young people, including: mentors, mentor programme providers, youth workers, educators, school counsellors, pastors, central and local government agency staff and community workers.
By bringing these workshops to the regions, we hope to strengthen regional and national networks in the well-established youth mentoring community.
