Nepal Flood Relief Appeal — Standing with our Nepalese friends

On 26 August 2026, a devastating flash flood triggered by a glacier collapse tore through districts of northern Nepal, close to the border with Tibet. Communities have lost homes, loved ones, and vital infrastructure, and humanitarian agencies estimate thousands of households remain in need of immediate relief. Recovery will take time and support.

Pulteney has a close relationship with Nepal. For the past 15 years, our students have visited Nepal as part of our service learning program, and this September, ten of our students are due to travel there again. In light of the disaster, we are promoting a fundraising campaign: we are asking our community to help support the emergency relief and recovery effort now underway across Nepal.

All funds raised through this page go to the World Expeditions Foundation — the charitable arm of World Expeditions, our trip operator, who has run programs in Nepal since 1975 and works closely with local partners on the ground.

Given their long-standing relationships and reach across the country, funds raised here will go directly to the organisations best placed to deliver relief where it is needed most.

Through a comprehensive risk-mitigation process, our trip plans are unaffected. World Expeditions' Nepalese operations team has been in close contact throughout, and there is no impact in the regions our students will visit, Kathmandu and the Annapurna region. Our trip, and our long-standing relationship with our Nepalese friends, continues as planned.

We are proud to keep going to Nepal to show up for the friends and communities who have welcomed Pulteney students for years, and now to stand with the wider country at a difficult time. Nepal has always been an extraordinarily generous host to visitors; this is a small way for us to give something back.
