Exhibition Opening Night
Description
Join us for the opening of three new exhibitions; New Horizons, Fractured Sanctuary, and What are YOU Looking At? on Friday 2nd October.
NERAM Director, Rachael Parsons, will open the evening with a short address and introduction to the new exhibitions. Drinks and light refreshments will be available.
New Horizons
This exhibition is the culmination of the New Horizons program in which five emerging landscape artists - Rita Winiger, Peta Moore, Jane Tonks, Jacqueline Scotcher, and Tania Hartigan - received guided professional development, one-on-one mentoring, with Angus Nivison and Rachael Parsons, and a masterclass with Angus Nivison to further develop their craft.
Fractured Sanctuary
An ongoing artwork conceived to extend and expand over time, Ken O'Regan began this kaleidoscopic composition in response to visits to sacred sites with large stained-glass installations. Inspired by mediaeval cathedrals, the lead light of Victorian and Edwardian architecture, and the neon and backlit signage of modern signage, the artwork is composed of hundreds of everyday plastic objects that are transformed by light into a glowing, jewel-like composition.
What Are YOU Looking At
A collection of contemporary portraits from the NERAM Collection. More details to come.
