Ilene Mitnick Presents: You Don’t Need a Lifeline, you Need a Laugh-Line!

Ilene claims laughter is a political act—a rebellious hack for your brain that frees you from fear, stress, and the tyranny of your ordinary body. Watch out— you’re about to make the same claim!
Her lively, interactive session will unleash your inner chaos agent through laughter activities designed to supercharge your mind, body, and mood. Think of it as a system reboot for humans who overthink. If you’re ready to ditch the lifeline and level up with a laugh line, join this ride and geek out on the science of joy.

Ilene Mitnick is a Joy Coach, Certified Laughter Yoga Leader and Co-founder of The Zest Zone, known for guiding others who are longing to live, work and play with more Joy and Vitality. Ilene and her co-pilot in life, Allison, are self-appointed Curators of the Good Life who believe everyone has the power to bring Joy fully back into their lives. Ilene says, “We’re just here to help you unlock it.” The Zest Zone is on a mission to revolutionize well-being by raising the Joy Meter in our community and beyond. They call it finding your J-spot! — All done through coaching, Laughter Yoga and unconventionally curated retreats called JoyX where you uncover (more like rip the lid off) the hidden joys of everyday life to spark a new level of living.

Agustin Valenzuela: The James Webb Space Telescope

This talk will provide a fascinating overview of how the James Webb space telescope works, its differences from the Hubble Earth telescope, and overall infrared radiation/light. We will review new discoveries including how to look into the past of our universe in order to illuminate the future.

Agustin Valenzuela is a science communicator in the Spanish podcast called Curiosidad Cientifica (science curiosity) for six years running with around 400 episodes and interviews all the way to Neal deGrasse Tyson. He has authored four books, including a basic physics book titled, "El Universo en Arroz y Habichuelas (The Universe in Rice and Beans)." Agustin is also a NASA Solar System Ambassador where he gives free presentations about science, STEM and NASA to schools, children’s museums, libraries, and community centers.

Jessica Tomlinson: Secrets of Sound Synthesis

We’ll be discussing the fun, experimental world of electronic music including the early equipment used, the East Coast-West Coast divide, and how both camps are represented in modern instruments today.

Jessica Tomlinson is an eclectic musician and recording engineer based in the St. Petersburg Tampa Bay area. She volunteers for Girls Rock Camp Saint Pete and teaches blind senior citizens how to use computers and smart phones.
