Brian Nelson-Palmer Presents: "But Dad, the gas is 5 cents cheaper over there!" Is it worth your time?

Ever feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day? Let’s revolutionize the way you perceive and utilize time. We’ll discover the hidden strategies that highly successful (and busy) individuals employ to achieve extraordinary time management results. In this session, we will calculate the $/hour value of your personal time. You'll walk away knowing when you should've told your Dad it was worth it to drive to the cheaper gas station. "Time is the currency of your life…Spend it wisely."

Do you have a productivity system to stay ahead of work and life demands? Wondering how to build a high-performing team without burnout? Enter Brian Nelson-Palmer, and the transformative power of Productivity Gladiator®, to reclaim control. Brian is an award-winning speaker, educator, and the founder of Productivity Gladiator®. He gives recently promoted office people managers a big boost by leveling up their skills, so they'll dominate this promotion, AND stick around for the next promotion. The team at TED selected Brian’s TEDx talk on time management as an “Editor’s Pick”. The talk racked up 150x more views in just its first two weeks than the average talk ever receives in its lifetime. Graduates of Brian’s Productivity Gladiator training wield superpowers in time management, practical leadership, communication, & productivity.

Allison Quatrini Presents: WTF North Korea?: A Brief Exploration of the Hermit Kingdom

Learn about the politics, society, and foreign relations of one of the planet's remaining dictatorships! Who is the "Dear Leader" and how does he stay in power? What is daily life in North Korea like? Why do other countries continue to prop it up? In addition to answers to these questions, you will also see my own photographs of North Korea taken from the Chinese side of the border!

Allison is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Eckerd College. She holds a Ph.D. from The George Washington University. While her research and teaching interests focus on nationalism and ethnicity in China, her students all know that North Korea is her not-so-secret other obsession! In her free time, she is an avid baker and cook, and is always looking for new recipes.

Brian Peret Presents: The American Dream 2.0 - Powered by Innovation

Yeah, AI might steal your job, but relax, it’ll probably invent something cooler anyway. With innovation, we can create a rising tide that lifts all boats. Technology is the ultimate equalizer, putting power in the hands of the people. The American Dream is not dead, it's just evolving, demanding we learn new skills and embrace change. So let’s get to work, nerds!

Brian believes in celebrating the glorious chaos of humanity, preferably while surrounded by dogs, good music, and maybe a questionable dance move or two. He also enjoys gardening, kayaking, and fellowship with neighbors. Brian's brain is a finely tuned engine, fueled by data and a borderline obsessive passion. He's transformed CodeBoxx Academy into a tech powerhouse, wrangles the Campbell Park Neighborhood Association like a seasoned diplomat, and can be found in front of hundreds of cyclists on Critical Mass rides (or serenading the Deuces Artwalk with his sax, depending on the day). Brian's seen firsthand how tech and community can transform lives. He's bringing that perspective to Nerd Nite, where he'll explore how innovation can bake a bigger pie for everyone.
