Event description

Our ‘Nest- Weaving’ workshop invites participants to collaboratively weave "nests" from natural materials as a creative outlet in a sensory-friendly, inclusive environment. Participants will join local fibre artist Carly Garner in the act of nest-weaving as a calming, meditative experience that fosters a deeper connection with nature.

‘Nest-Weaving’ fosters a sense of shared purpose through collaborative artmaking, strengthening community ties and encouraging social interaction. Participants will engage with sustainable practices while reflecting on the relationship between art, nature, and community.

The workshop supports national Neurodiversity Celebration Week- a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. Nest-making is a gentle, mindful and tactile sensory engagement that may be especially beneficial for neurodiverse individuals.  The nest serves as a symbol of safety, belonging, and care.

This workshop is FREE however places are limited and ticketed. All ages welcome. Please bring your own hat, water bottle and afternoon tea.  Cuppa and bikkies provided.

Saturday March 22, from 2pm-5pm in the Community Garden -Pomona & District Community House, 1 Memorial Avenue, Pomona.
