NEST by Roots
Event description
In the past they burned us, because they thought we were witches.
Because we knew what to do with herbs outside of the kitchen.
Because we knew how to dance, seduce, pray.
Because we moved with the cycles of the moon...
~ Fleassy Malay
Welcome to NEST ~ A weekend to expand your intuitive embodied nature, while rooted in ancient wisdom.
NEST, hosted by Roots Embodiment Festival, is a sacred space to embody the timeless wisdom of the Wise Woman archetype; embracing innate magic, embodied intuition and forgotten feminine wisdom whilst cocooned by the warmth of sisterhood softness in winter.
During this retreat, you will immerse yourself in witchy practices and rituals that honour the cycles of nature, seasons of womanhood and submerge into the underworld of the feminine. Roots Collective runs events that focus on the experience of being a woman and much of this focus sits around people born with wombs and/or people who have the experience of female biology. While we respect that gender identity is not always aligned with the body you were born with or the gender you were assigned at birth, our spaces are focused on the cisgender female experience. If you are a non binary, assigned female at birth person you are welcome but must understand the focus of our events. The reason we outline this is because we want everyone to feel safe and held in our space. We don’t want people to have different expectations so we want to be clear about what we’re offering from a place of deep reflection, consideration and care.
Our friends at @collective_kaleidoscope and @ember.collaborative run events for the gender queer community and welcome anyone who identifies as being a woman.
