Two Bit Movie Club - John Carpenter's The Thing
Event description
Join us for a very special edition of Two Bit Movie Club as we celebrate the auspicious 39th anniversary of history's greatest bottle movie, John Carpenter's The Thing.
Based on the 1938 novel 'Who Goes There?' (previously adapted for the screen as 'The Thing from Another World' in 1951), The Thing is a triumph of gross, viscous, wonderful practical special effects, all improbably masterminded by one extremely overworked 22-year-old.
Join us as we find out who the real monster is: the fear and suspicion lurking in the heart of man, or a bloodthirsty polymorphous alien whose only wish is to destroy all life.
Before the movie, we'll be hanging out in the New Farm Cinema foyer spinning John Carpenter's soundtracks on vinyl from 6pm with the movie kicking off at 7pm.
It happens at New Farm Cinemas at on Saturday the 10th of July. Each $20 ticket comes with a limited 'The Thing' enamel pin designed by Luke Shield. Grab tickets via events.humanitix.com/netherworldthing!
