Network & Connect: Mai Raano and Matariki
Event description
Matariki is a time of reflection, renewal and reconnection. We’re proud to present a special learning opportunity with Mai Raano
Learn from this kaupapa Māori initiative that supports organisations to build cultural confidence and deepen their connection to te ao Māori. Grounded in both environmental and ancestral knowledge, its mahi addresses social inequities, strengthens relationships with the taiao (natural world) and activates intergenerational wellbeing.
This event offers a preview into the cultural competency and leadership development that Mai Raano provides. Discover how whakapapa, whenua, and tikanga can transform the way we approach sustainability, leadership and collective wellbeing.
About Mai Raano
Co-directed by Tiahomai Henare-Heke and Te Waiariki Peita, Mai Raano is grounded in whakapapa, tikanga and taiao-based learning. With more than a decade of experience in cultural education, leadership training and kaupapa delivery, they support organisations on a journey to grow cultural confidence.
As partners in life and mahi, their approach is deeply rooted in lived practice, whanaungatanga and movement. They draw from their roles in kapa haka, Māori martial arts and systems change.
Join Mai Raano and SBN to explore how businesses can honour mātauranga Māori through meaningful and transformative practices.
You’ll also have the chance to shout-out about what’s been happening in your organisation and we’ll provide an update on the latest at SBN. A great opportunity to meet other organisations in the network and form new connections in a welcoming and informal setting.
We will have a delicious filter brew coffee available thanks to Altezano Brothers.
