Neuk Aberdeen: Hand-sewn Pumpkins and Hallow-zines

Join us for the first of our new monthly Neuk Aberdeen Drop-Ins a laid back seasonal zine and hand sewn pumpkin making session at the Out the Box Crafts studio, our team will be there to help you get creative and express yourself whilst making a simple Zine or hand sewn pumpkin. All necessary materials will be provided, so that you can just get stuck in and enjoy some cutting, pasting and hand sewing fun.

No previous experience is required, and our friendly team will be on hand to demonstrate a paper Zine folding technique that can be easily replicated and some basic stitches you will need to complete your pumpkin.

This is a free meet-up for Aberdeen based neuro-divergent artists and creatives aged 18 and over. It is not necessary to have a formal diagnosis and you do not need to consider yourself a professional artist.

Access

Out the Box Crafts studio is accessible by 9 external stairs to the basement door. Once inside, it is all on one level and there is a gender neutral toilet on the premises.  The studio can be chilly for some so please dress warmly, there is also bright office lighting if you are sensitive to this then light filtering glasses / sunglasses are recommended. There are two breakout spaces if you need a break from the main group and headphones are welcome. We are a covid conscious venue and run an air purifier in the space but we would ask - if you have been experiencing Covid 19 symptoms or if you have been in contact with someone who has been unwell - to please mask if possible or let us know so we have the choice to mask.

The venue can be reached by public transport, buses stop on Albyn Place and nearby on Holburn Street. Numbers 1, 2, 11, 5 and 23 are all a few metres walk from the studio. There is also limited free parking in the car park at the front of the venue and on street car parking on the streets outside the venue some of which are free on Sundays.
