Neuroaffirming Practices: Understanding and supporting neurodivergent communities at ANU
Description
Note: Wednesday 3 June workshop will be held online. All other workshops are in person.
Neuroaffirming Practices is offered as part of the University's commitment to providing a diverse and inclusive campus where all people can safely work and study.
This two-hour workshop is a conversational introduction to neuroaffirming practices — approaches that celebrate neurodiversity and move away from the deficit-based thinking that often dominates traditional clinical and educational approaches. Together, we’ll explore what neurodivergence really means, hear insights from lived experience, and discuss practical ways to create more inclusive, respectful spaces at ANU and beyond. A session for people who are new to these ideas or wanting to deepen their understanding.
