    Event description

What is mind health and the role of behaviour in the classroom? What is our role as educators to facilitate a sense of connection with our students? How can we understand neurological health for sustainable self-care in a school setting? NeuroEdConnect is a full-day interactive Professional Learning session created by psychologist and mind health specialist Maria Ruberto from Salutegenics and Bianca and Kritz Sciessere, functional behavioural specialists and co-founders of The Big Sister Experience.

Proud partners The Australian Education Summit and KaiKo Fidgets Australia are excited to present - NeuroEdConnect: An Educational Symposium bridging Data, Mind Health, and Educator Strategies.

Over a full day, we will explore the latest research and Australian data demonstrating why many of us are experiencing a climate of dis-regulation, hyper-arousal and disconnect. We will explore ‘why’ we are seeing the deterioration of behaviours and build on ‘how’ we can begin to build functional mind health.

Drawing on her extensive clinical and educational background, Maria will present the framework around the function of behaviour and what drives student intentions. We will then unpack the theory around regulation and the role it plays in emotion, behaviour and co-regulation.

Building on this premise, Bianca and Kritz will use their experience from both teaching in the classroom and running The Big Sister Experience workshops in schools to equip you with the practical strategies and language to implement this learned knowledge within your setting.

Throughout the day you will have many opportunities to connect with other educators, ask questions, and seek specific answers to your challenges to support you and your school community.

At the end of NeuroEdConnect you will:

    • Have an updated understanding of current Australian data and why these conversations are crucial today
