Neuroinclusive Facilitation for Trainers and Facilitators
Description
Want to make your facilitation more neuroinclusive?
When you run a workshop, training session, or consultation, your choices influence who can participate and whose contributions are heard. The pace you set, the instructions you give, and the environment you create can make a significant difference.
For ADHD Awareness Month, Callie Elward-Barrett from Executive Functioning Leadership and Cecilia Jones from Intelligent People are partnering to offer a free, practical webinar on neuroinclusive facilitation.
We’ll explore how to create sessions that support different ways of thinking, processing information, learning, and contributing. Whether you facilitate online or in person, you’ll find ideas to help you review your approach and make practical changes.
What we’ll cover
Neurodiversity fundamentals: what facilitators need to understand about different minds and how these differences can affect the experience of a session
Physical and online setup: how the environment, session structure, and information you provide can reduce barriers to participation
The 5Cs for Neuroinclusive Facilitation: application to the decisions you make before and during a session
Participation principles and group norms: creating clear expectations and meaningful options for contributing, including looking beyond speaking up as a measure of engagement
There will be a Q&A at the end of the session, you can also send a question to us before the event after check out
You’ll leave with a practical starting point for reviewing your own sessions, identifying unnecessary demands, and offering greater choice in how people participate.
Who is this for?
Anyone who facilitates workshops, training, consultations, meetings, or group discussions. That includes professional facilitators, trainers, coaches, educators, team leaders, community engagement practitioners, and people working in learning and development, change, research, or design.
You don’t need facilitator in your job title, or prior expertise in neuroinclusion, to attend.
What makes this session different?
This partnership brings together specialist neuroinclusion knowledge and substantial experience facilitating real conversations through complexity. We’ll connect the principles with the everyday decisions facilitators face, from explaining an activity to establishing group expectations.
Although we’re hosting the webinar for ADHD Awareness Month, the session will consider neurodiversity more broadly. We’ll explore ways to offer flexibility while keeping the purpose of your session clear.
